How the Budget Flow Diagram Works

The form comes pre-filled with example income and expenses. You can customize everything freely: rename fields, add or remove categories, and structure your expenses however you like.

1

List your income

Start by entering all your income sources. This could be your salary, freelance earnings, rental income, or investment returns.

2

Structure expenses in two levels

Organize your expenses into groups (like Housing, Food, Transport) and then break each group into specific categories. For example, Housing could include Rent, Utilities, and Internet. You only need to use one level if you prefer.

3

Download and share

Click "Download as PNG" to save your diagram as an image. Share it on Reddit, social media, or with friends to compare spending habits and discover where you might be able to save.

Visualize your investment plan

You can also use this tool to visualize your investment portfolio. Enter your monthly savings rate as income, and your asset allocation (ETFs, stocks, bonds) as expense groups with specific funds as subcategories.
